APPLE SEASON

Oak Glen, California is an apple farming community located in the San Bernardino mountains. Several of the historic spots throughout the Glen are our properties, including the oldest and largest apple farm in Southern California, Los Rios Rancho. Between Los Rios, the old Wilshire’s Apple Shed, and apple orchards sitting on family owned property, there are many activities that we offer in the autumn season. From apple picking, to hay rides, farm fairs, and corn mazes, guests will find our properties the perfect place for a fall family outing!

Activities at Los Rios Rancho

Throughout the fall season, Los Rios’s orchards are heavy with apples. With over 35 different varieties ripening at different times throughout the autumn, Los Rios is the prime destination for folks coming to Oak Glen to pick! Apple picking usually lasts from August-November with u-pick available throughout the week.

The farm store tent is stocked with delicious treats including the famous Los Rios apple pie, sweet cider, hard cider, and apples. Here folks can browse country gifts, old fashioned candies, and western knick-knacks.

The farm kitchen is open daily with a full menu including tri-tip, pulled pork sandwiches, and chili! And no one can leave without a slice of apple pie with ice cream, and a glass of hot apple cider!

On the weekends guests can participate in even more activities from the petting zoo, pony rides, and wagon rides at Little Seedling Ranch. They can also enjoy hard cider tastings next to the tent store, with a flight of 4 hard ciders made on the property from Los Rios apples!

Farm Fair

On the Northside of the Los Rios property is a popup fair that lasts only for the fall season. Here folks can purchase tickets that they can use to experience different fun activities.

The Farm Fair reflects what life was like on the frontier 150 years ago, and especially highlights the activities kids would do for fun back then! Activities range from wax candle dipping, to wood toy making, tin smithing, and more! Visitors can even try their hand at pressing their own apple cider, a gallon that they get to take home at the end!

Apple picking is also available on the Northside, as well as a giant corn maze with a fun scavenger hunt!

The bbq house has a delicious bbq menu with ample picnic seating all around, and the tent store at the farm fair sells western gear, kids toys, preserves, and apple pies!

The Farm Fair is the perfect spot for families looking to enjoy a little educational fall fun!
